Where does the time go?

I had all good intentions of finishing this fortnights challenge at the Stamp Man challenge Blog but here I am last minute. I guess with only getting back from holiday last thursday and starting back up at school I lost track of the time. The challenge this fortnight was to Resist. You cold use any resist technique wanted. Of course i could not decide what technique to use so I played around with a few and before I knew it had a bunch of samples so I decided to make a little Technique tag book. Each page uses a different technique but I tried to keep the butterfly theme throughout. This was the title page. This Fairy stamp was from the Stamp Mans Sale room. I love it. It is stamped on Gloss paper and coloured with distress inks then covered with Glossy Accents just on the image. I then used a stencil and added the diamond pattern which resisted the image due to the Glossy accents.

This tag used a resist technique with water. I used a template and sprayed water through it. Then I spritzed with Dylusions spray ink and the pattern showed up. the butterflies are stamped on from Tim Holtz Stamps and embossed with clear EP. The writing is then stamped over top and wiped off the butterfly which resisted the ink.

This page (sorry the camera flashed a bit bright) is stamped using Perfect Medium Black on gloss paper and then inked over with Distress ink. the Butterflies are then stamped in Archival black. the stamps used here ate from Aspects of Design stamps from the Stamp Man.

The tag is stamped with Perfect Medium clear then sprayed with Dylusions spray inks. It is then stamped over again randomly using the same stamps and Archival ink in black. Lastly the big Butterfly is added.

This resist technique uses another stamp from The Stamp man in a mesh design. It is stamped with perfect medium and embossed with clear EP. The music Stamp is added and then I used Brown Dylusions paint to go over the embossed image. The small Butterflies from Tim Holtz stamps are then embossed on the bottom and the Big butterfly added.

This Technique is one of my favourites. I sprayed the card with different colour Dylusions spray inks then stamped the images using perfect Medium Clear. I then sprayed the entire piece with a darker blue Dylusions spray ink and blotted off. Very easy.

This is another fun technique but a little more time consuming. I used Bees Wax for this one. A Diamond cookie cutter is dipped in melted Bees Wax and then stamped continuously on the background. I then painted the background with Violet Purple Starburst stains. Once dry it is put in between 2 pieces of card and ironed to remove the wax. I then added the butterfly.

This technique stamps the image using Perfect Medium Black and is then rubbed over using new Tim Holtz Stains in Blue. I then added the same stamped over top and embossed using clear EP. The butterflies are added with Distress inks and clear EP. Lastly the flowers on the 2 added branches are painted using Smooch pearl ink.

This last technique didn't photograph very well but it is inked with a light blue Distress ink then clear paint is added though a diamond stencil. Once Dry the darker blue Distress ink is added over top and wiped off the resisted area. I then added the Tim Holtz stamped bushes and butterfly in brown dye ink. and scratched over the tag using walnut ink and a credit card.

Each technique is written on the back of each tag to remember later.

This was such a fun Challenge and I wound up with a great technique book besides.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Angela
