then and now what a difference a day makes.

Here is a layout I did for the last SYAO challenge. We work from a sketch and have a list of items and techniques we have to pick from. This time I was very last minute and did not get my project completed until just 4 hours before the deadline of midnight PST Tuesday. that was the day Belle broke her tooth and I had to work so it was a crazy day in all but I gt it done.

It is not one of my best but I was determined to use this picture of Belle and Casey from years back. The 2 of them were so cute and I had picked up this CB diecut title Tea for Two which fit perfectly so I worked around that.

Now the 2 pups have been a terror together. They seem to act up and have regressed alot back into puppyhood since being together. Don;t get me wrong they are both great dogs. But Sun at the age of 6 had finally seemed to mellow and become a very good dog at least until she got a friend in Mona.

The 2 of them are trouble together as we are finding out.

This is what I came home to the next morning after being out of the house for less than half and hour to drop Belle at school......

Yep that is the layout above torn to shreds. Now I would have naturally blamed it on the new dog but a similar incident happened when Sun was a pup. Plus the fact she was hiding when I returned home a sure sign she was the mastermind. I don't know what prompted her to jump up on the hutch and take it down though. All I know is that since the 2 of them are together there is lots of trouble. Day before this they ate Belles Childrens Bible. Of course that she left out on the couch for them so of course they thought it was theirs. My page was up high. Definately not for them.   Oh well. Guess they did not like the page much either. .......Do you think they sensed that from me....LOL

Since this weekend coming is Memorial day weekend here in the states we have a 4 day weekend. Yippee! Only thing is being in a sure resort area we cannot go anywhere as there wil be lots of traffic and people visiting the shore so we pretty much stay at home. I am looking forward to 4 great days of rest and definitely some crafting. I have lots of catch up to do.

Thats about all for now. Thanks for stopping in and have a great day. Angela

New challenge for Try it on tuesday

There's a new challenge up at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is "Fathers day or Men and boys" We want to see all your masculine themed projects. Here is a card I made for hubby for fathers day.

I used Distress inks, sprays and paints for the background then stamped the car on plastic packaging I recycled. I then colored the back with paint markers and promarkers. I then layered it ion the background and added staples up the side. the ribbons were then added on the top and I had drew the sentiment on them.

Now head on over to the Try it on Tuesday blog for some more great inspiration and then join in the fun this fornight. Our challenges now last 2 weeks so that gives you double the time to get your entry in. One lucky entry will win a voucher for The Craft Barn.

Sorry I am a bit late in getting this post up. I forgot to post it this morning and we wound up with an emergency tonight as Belle Broke her tooth. She split it clean in half and is in alot of pain so after lots of calls we have an appointment tomorrow morning and she will getting it pulled although we have not told her that yet. She is all upset over breaking it to begin with. Wish us luck tomorrow. Fingers crossed all will go smooth.

Now on another note. Here is the current foster Mona sitting in her fav place. She seems to have taken over the window sill.

Good thing I tiled the ledge last fall.  Isn't she sweet!

Have a  good night . Angela

So excited to finally share

I am so excited to finally share my news! One of my mini Acrylic albums was published in SCRAP365 June's issue.

I have been waiting so long to see it come out and it is finally here. Well at least available in the stores although not in the US it seems as I have tried like crazy to get a copy. I will have to wait till mine arrives from the UK. In the mean time I bought a digital copy just to see the article. It is on pages 66-69 in the magazine and  tells alot about the book! EEK! So excited! My first project in Print. The title of the article is called Sun, Sea and Sand.
Ok down to earth now. Sorry for my craziness. Just normally when I am looking forward to something , something else will always happen to mess it up. But this time it actually went to print.  This months scrap365 is also filled with tons of great projects and ideas. I am in overload just looking through it online. You can get a copy in you local WHsmiths and alot of stores seems to have them online for order. You can also order them directly through Traplet publications but they do not have the june issue up yet. If you happen to see the article please let me know what you think.

Now I am off to get some DT work done then get back to work on the program I have to have done by the end of the month. Time is ticking.
thanks for stopping in and have a most splendid day. Angela

Getting Inspired

Well I did get to play with my stamps a bit today. Not as long as I would have liked but its a start. Here are some of the quick cards I did with them.

This one was done using the Inkadinkado Sparrow stamp and Delicate branches set along with the Hot Pics London set. I also used a Stampotique sentiment. the background is dine using distress ink and a baby wipe with a sponging effect. I just love this stamp set. the image is so detailed.

I think this is one of my favorites as I have always loved colored glass. I used the Inkadinkado Bottle row stamp. the background is done with a stencil and Distress ink.
The flowers and bottles are colored with Promarkers.

This one I used the same stamp and stencil as above but for the background used Distress ink then sprayed water through the stencil. The flowers are colored with more muted colors and I used Glossy accents over the bottles. I also used a silver pen for the details on the empty bottle top.

Well that's all I have for now. Now I have to go cook tea without using an oven as ours decided to stop working last night. I have to cook everything on the cook top till it is fixed or we get a new one. I am biding for the later though I will probably wind up just getting it fixed. DH insists I broke it on purpose.
Now would I do that?

Thanks for stopping in and have a great evening. Angela

some new inspiration arrives

Lately it seems that I have been creating more scrapbook pages than anything else. I am not quite sure why. My stamps have just not been inspiring me lately so I though it might be time to add a few fresh ones to the mix. I had ordered some new ones from different places over the past 2 weeks and today I received 3 shipments! I was so excited to open the boxes. Here they are:

The Hot Picks were from Paper Artsy . Considering they were ordered from the UK I am surprised how quickly they arrived and they have wonderful quick customer service when I emailed with a question. The Crow Scape(turned on its side) I have seen in many magazine projects and loved it so I just had to get it. the other are some things that just appealed to me. Aren't they all lovely! I will be off to play a bit as soon as I am done with this post.

Another fab find i got this past weekend when we were going through some local antique shoppes. Lately I have such a hard time finding things in antique shoppes around her as they are normally outrageously priced but I was lucky enough to come across a stack of these Time life books from the 50's and 60's. All for just $1 each I loved some of the photos and artwork inside so I picked up a few to use in future projects.
That should do me for a bit. I still have another 2 orders of stamps on the way although not sure when they will be arriving. One order is again coming from the UK and another from the states. I am hoping that once this project for work is done I will have a bit more time to focus on my crafting. I have been so busy creating a magazine layout for the show program at work it has been taking up all my time. there are so many ads produce the artwork for and then the whole layout and it all has to be complete and to press within the next 2 weeks. Yikes! But I have decided to take a few hours to myself today to play with my new arrivals. Should help break up the monatany of  the graphics I have been doing lately.

Now I am off to grab those few precious hours to myself.   Thanks for stopping in and have a great day. Angela

A layout for SYAO challenge

Just wanted to share my week 12 layout for the SYAO challenge at Paper Secrets.

And here is the sketch we had to work from:

Just wanted pop in to share a recent project.  Of course over at the SYAO challenge we are on week 14 now. I will try to share some more soon. I was lucky enough to get to take Dyan's class over at Scrappers Cove last week. We did a stitched book and some Art Journaling. it was fabulous to spend the day with Dyan especially since I have not seen her since we moved back from England. I will upload some pics soon.   Aside from that it has been all work in between the ups and downs of this wonderful sinus infection which is now been with me well over a month. Oh the joys of being allergic to antibiotics. It is getting a bit better though as the headaches are lessening a bit. Hoping it will be one soon.  Aside from that not much to update. I am hoping to work a bit on organizing my craft room and then maybe get back into a regular schedule. We still have Mona our latest foster, of course she has managed to cause chaos in my living room when left alone and eat the nose off Belles Bear she has had since a baby so of course she is not wining too many votes with the rest of the family yet. I am still working on that one. Sunflower and her are still buddy buddy though and enjoying their time together. I am about to call it a night. Busy day of work tomorrow and Belle will have her first day back at school after being poorly this week.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful evening. Angela

Tuesday 8 May 2012

Its time for another fun challenge over at Try it on Tuesday and the new theme is "At the Beach".
So we would like to see all your beach related entries.
Remember to be sure and check out the rules over at the Try it on Tuesday blog.
Here is my project. I decided to do a little canvas.
I used some scrap papers for the background. The image is from Stampotique and stamped on glossy paper then inked over with old Paper Distress ink. I then crumpled it a bit then inked it again to make it look old.  Lastly I added the ribbon, shells and flowers and title.
Now if you head on over to the Try it on Tuesday blog you will find some fantastic inspirations done by the rest of the team. then show us your project by linking it up under the post.

Now I am back to nursing a horrid sinus infection which is so been interfering with everyday productivity. If only it would up and leave and not come back! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. Angela

New Challenge at The Stamp Man

The new challenge is up over at The stamp Man and this time the theme is "your favorite technique" I have so many it was hard to choose. After alot of pondering I decided to go with my Napkin Collage.

.

I love using the slide mailers and decided to alter this one using various napkins from my kit. I also used paints and inks to alter the background. the girl is done using a fairy stamp on white card. I colored the image with Distress inks including altering the hair a bit. I then cut out part of the image and added it to the mailer. Here is the stamp I used.

Materials used :
Fairy stamp (sale)
TH Papillon stamp set
Slide mailer

Now if you head over to The Stamp Man Challenge blog you can see some more great inspiration from my team mates. Don't forget there is a great prize up for grabs too.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. Angela
