Wonderland Challenge.....

Well I am a bit last minute this week but here is my project for lets get Shabby blog Challenge # 9. the chalenge was to create a garden within your project using at least 5 different flowers and include a quote from Alice in Wonderland. My quote is " Come we shall have some fun now" from the te party scene and I used it on page 2 of my minibook. Here is the front cover. I cut layered windows on each page so as you open ten you get a little bit more of a glimpse of the final page. My garden theme runs throughout the book using many different flowers and comninations. the book is actually a discount 50 cent Chipboard book I found at Michaels while back in the states on holiday. On the cover I used Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste papers(I used them throughout the book, A miniature fence fount at my local miniature store, Prima roses, Tim Holtz metal frame,Butterfly stamp from tim holtz(used to make the butterfly) and ribbons and Lace from my stash. the pics I used throughout the book were taken ofBelle and Her good friend Belle Belle when we were in Disney.
the next 2 pages start the story. The first page is where I used the quote from Alice at the Tea party "Come we shall have some fun now" On these pages I used Buttlefly stickers from unknown, Prima roses, Basic Grey bling and Lace from my stash.
These pages have Prima flowers, Lace from my stash, Basic Grey brads and pearl brads, and trim from my stash.
These 2 pages use some ribbon andstickers unknown from my stash.
The first page here is using some metal rosettes I bought from a local Scrapbook Store. the last page has various sticker butterflies, more miniature fencing, 5 different rose styles and various die cut flowers beneath the fencing, there are roses, lilies, daffodils, and more. A white sheer ribbon ties across the page through to the back beneath the fencing but over the picture. Have a great weekend and again thanks for all the wonderful comments. Angela

Challenges

Well I worked a bit on some challenges today. This card is for Totally Papercrafts weekly challenge in which the Theme is mothers day or special lady and Basic Greys Fortnight challenge which was to use a sketch below as inspiration. Being my mother is not with us anymore I decided to make this card with a very special friend in mind.
She has been going through some tough times and I think It will be nice to send to her. For the card I used Basic grey porcelain and wisteria papers, Bazzill cardstock, Setiment stamp from Inkadinkadoo and flower stamp from close to my heart. the lace was from my current stash. Of course I just had to spend hours trying to upload my image as I was having computer issues. Gotta love technology and to think I used to work with it.
This was the photo inspiration for Basic Greys challenge. I liked the softness of it so I shredded the edges on my card a bit and added some faux stitching. I think the lace also added a soft touch.
thanks for peeking! As always your comments are greatly appreciated. have a good night all! Angela

Found another....

Little Stamping shop over the weekend. Actually 2 for that matter both were located in Skipton which is quite a haul for us but with friends up there is is a nice day out. The first shop was the Stamp man and the owners were so nice. I got there about 10 minutes before they closed and they hung out and let me take my time looking around. I found some fun Mica sprays and stamps as well as a few other necessities and even some great sale stuff. They have a big selection of stamps and stamping products and have been around over 20 years but have just moved to a new location. I cannot wait to get back up there to take a workshop.
The second store was very deceiving. I do not remember the name but It was a big craft store which on the 3rd floor had a scrapbooking and stamping section. Friends of ours whom we had gone to visit took us over there before we headed over to dinner. At first I though it was going to be just needle point and yarns but as we went through each floor there was more and more including a great material selection perfect for my sewing quests. The scrapbooking department had a nice work room attached and lots of paper. It was more set up like a big box store like michaels and ACmoore in the states but they had alot of stuff and I managed to find some things no problem, I even found a few sale items there too. They had more of a cutsie slection of stamps and kind of reminded me of the Range but with lots of materials and other crafting goodies. All in all it was a good day and I got some good stuff to play with. Oh yeah and the brown butterfly paper....can you guess what pics I am going to use on that? Hint...I showed them a few days ago. Well thats all for now. I am going to get busy with my next set of projects and finish hanging the wash out since it is a beautiful day. Angela

And what did I send my wonderland Partner?

Well After getting my wonderful box from my Wonderland Swap partner Liesa yesterday I received an email that she also got hers from me and loved it too! Ooooh What a wonderful day this was. Well since the secret is now out I can share with you what I made for Liesa. Here are some pics although they are not very good and I did not take pics of everything I will try to explain and you will have to imagine......

This is a picture of everything in the box. There was a recipie book(pictured later in closeup, 2 Rabbit place card/photo holders, a handmade bracelet in a clock tin(pictured in detail later), A little box filled with sweets labeled "Eat ME", 2 sets of hand stamped stationary and envelopes(pictured later) ad a precision file set from Basic grey(store bought).
This is the recipie book I made Liesa because she loves cooking and recipies. I used Basic grey wisteria papers and clips from Alice in wonderland. I hand stamped and inked all the index cards inside. Some of the Alice clips were crackle glazed and inked while others were accented with Glossy accents.
This is the bracelet I made. I used various purple glass beads and charms along withsome hand made charms including some sayings from one of her favourite parts of the story. I stamped a clock face on a tin and added stamped hands for a unique packaging.
This is a closeup of the stationary papers I made(the envelopes are stamped to match and are in back of the papers). I used my new Tim holtz stamps for these along with distress inks since they are so nice and light. Again purple was the dominating colour. I then trimmed the ribbon with charms and beeds and one with a little glitter filled bottle labeled "Drink me" althoug I did that after this pic was taken.
Thanks to Maggi at Just add Glitter and stir for hosting the swap and pairing me up with a wonderful partner!

Nothing like the last minute.

Well, Belle had to dress up for school on Friday as a rainforest inhabitant but never decided what to be until Thursday eve. Luckily I had some fabric at home. So we cut it up, glued, sewed, painted and here is the outcome. She is a Blue morpho butterfly.
She did get a certificate for most creative.
