some new work

Did I ever mention how much I hate changes? Well the new blogger interface is one of those changes I am really not liking. Why do they have to change things. It still has the same issues so what did they fix? anyway enough of my ranting. I was lucky enough to grab some time yesterday and spend a crafty day with friends. This is one of the projects I did. IT is a jack of Kylie's page over at Scrap Jacked

I flipped the design and then used flowers going up the side instead of paper. the background paper is from Bobunny. I used Dylusions paints on the entire sheet to mute it a bit. The diecut on the side of the photo is from Memory Box. I love their intricate designs. the shells are stamped from Stampendeous and Stampin up sets. they are then sprayed with inks. The big flower is a wooden flower(and leaves too) from Kaiser. You can see Kylie's layout here at Scrapjacked. I hope I will find a little more time this weekend to jack some more layouts from Scrap Jacked as there are lots of great layouts to choose from this month as always.

Now on another note. Here is our latest foster pup Mona(I think they may have called her that because she moans in her sleep.)

She is a black Shepherd mix. Isn't she beautiful. Her and sunny really hit it off.
Sorry this pic was right side up but blogger is playing games again. and has decided it wants to load it this way.
They are like 2 peas in a pod. where one goes the other follows.
Aren't they cute together. This one is definitely gonna break my heart when she finds a home.

Well gotta run and try to fight with blogger some more. Thanks for popping in and have a fabulous day. Angela

I'm Back

From a long holiday and ready to get back into things. It was so relaxing in Oahu that I almost wish I could move there. So many beautiful beaches to see amazing breathtaking scenery when hiking it was fabulous. But now we are back in reality, Back to work, school and all the other in betweens throughout the day. Of course i am still adjusting to the jet lag and have completely forgotten my days......Silly me , I am late for the challenge over at The Stamp Man! this weeks theme is "Shabby Chic and/or Distressed. I think I may have used both. I started out wanting a Shabby Chic feel but think it went more into distressed. What do you think?

The Background began with a white piece of card. I then colored it using Starburst stains and Distress Stains. Once I got the desired color a muted green with pink tints, I stamped randomly along the edge with my floral stamps(i did not use a block as I only wanted partial images. Once this set for a little bit I used a baby wipe and paper towel to remove some leaving a muted image. the photos are edged using Picket fence Distress stain. I have really gotten hooked on the vellum flowers so I once again made some this time using the Starburst stains to color them. If you want to find out how to make them you can go to the post here where I explained them. They are very easy. The butterflies are stamped on vellum and embossed clear. I then used the distress stains to add some color. Cut them out and put in place.

My team mates have also created some wonderful projects to help inspire you. You can see them at The Stamp Man Challenge blog where you can also link up your project and enter the Stamp Man Challenge. One lucky winner gets a great voucher to use in The Stamp Man's online shoppe. So don't delay. We cannot wait to see them.

On another note I will try to post some Pics soon of Oahu. Just need to finish uploading them. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. Angela

New Challenge at Try it on Tuesday

Well it is time for another challenge over at Try it on Tuesday. This week the theme is "Pampered Pets" . Since we were going on holiday for Easter I made this for our pooch while we were away. Unfortunately , I found out she got hold of it and ate the whole thing at once. Oh well, she does love her treats. It is wrapped with Rusty Pickle Easter papers and ribbon. . The flower is cut using Tim Holtz Tattered florals die and Vellum. It is then inked and spritzed then heat dried.
The little tag is stamped using the free stamp on last months Craft Stamper. the paper used is by Coordinations and its two toned. now if you head over to Try it on Tuesday you can see some of the great inspirations my team have made for you . Don't forget that one lucky winner will get a great certificate from our wonderful sponsor "The Craft Barn" So hurry and get your project in the running now.

Now I will leave you with a picture of our holiday paradise. The lagoon is teaming with tropical fish and marine life perfect for snorkeling. The week is going by way too fast. Pretty soon it will be back to cooler weather and everyday troubles but for now it is heaven. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. Angela

New challenge at the Stamp Man

the new challenge is up at The stamp man and the theme this fortnight is "Vellum". I decided to make a candle holder.

First I started with and ordinary drinking glass(although this was one that was a bit stained up from my paints.)
Next I cut a piece of A4 vellum in half and stamped my butterflies them embossed in clear and colored the back side using Distress inks.

Next I stamped the script inking my stamp with Time Holtz Distress stain in Walnut and heat dried it.
Once dry I took a baby wipe and wiped gently across the vellum. to create a smeared effect (When done this looked like white birch wood)

Next step was to glue the Vellum around the glass then snip and roll the edges out on the top of the glass. Once that was done I created more butterflies using the above technique with embossing and cut them out to add to decorations. The flower is done with vellum cut out using Tim Holtz Tattered florals die. I then layered the pieces and inked with Mustard seed Distress ink. I then spritzed the vellum with water and dried with a heat gun. this caused the petals to curl in naturally. I added it to a bit of twine and there you have it in a nutshell!

Now don't forget there is a gift certificate up for grabs from The Stamp Man for one lucky winner. So don't be shy come and join us for another great challenge.

Now I am off on holiday! thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful day. Angela
