It really has been quite awhile since I have been able to post on my blog and especially finish any DT work but I have finally accomplished something! Yippee! During Easter Break last week I was able to clear a spot in the craft room and sit down to start and (yes really)finish a project. It seems that teaching pretty much full time and working at the studio really leaves me with little creative time sadly enough. I was very happy to steal a few hours to myself to sit down and get creative although I have to say the mojo is really not there. I was able to complete this one piece for the Try it on Tuesday challenge so all was not lost.
The Challenge theme this fortnight over at the Try it on Tuesday Challenge blog is "New Beginnings" So we would like to see anything relating to baby, new home, new job, wedding etc. I chose to scrapbook this picture of my daughter from a very long time ago sleeping next to my husband. She looks so peaceful. So hard to imagine this little sweetie grew into my very opinionated, wacky and very tall daughter. Yes she has outgrown me and is still sprouting.
For this layout I used Patterned paper(Sorry I do not know the name as I cut off the strip a long while ago.), Prima flowers along with miniature handmade paper roses. Chip board letters and flourishes, paint, ink, burlap and a few other bits I had around.
So I now send you over to the Try it on Tuesday blog to see some fab creations by my team mates and also browse through and meet some of our newest members. They are such a great bunch. Once over there you can link up your creations and share them with us in the challenge. We cannot wait to see them.
Thanks for stopping by and with any luck hopefully it will not be too long before my next post.
Have a great week!

Things with wings
"Things with Wings" is the new theme over at TIOT. I really wanted to share this beautiful driftwood bird since it is perfect for the theme, but I have to say aside from having an artful eye and spotting it I really did not create it. The full credit for that goes to Mother Nature for this one. I found it on one of our trips to the beach. It was just sitting there like a bird curled up in the sand.
Isn't it Lovely?
But of course I cannot take credit for something I did not create all I can do is share it.
Here is my winged project.
My winged themed creation is a mini suitcase box with butterfly tabbed cards.
Now let s see what you create.
Just head on over to the TioT challenge blog to enter yours and check out all the wonderful inspiration from my team mates.
Thanks for stopping in and have a lovely day.

New challenge at TIOT and updates.
There is a new challenge over at Try it on Tuesday and the theme this fortnight is "music". Here is my project:
I created a canvas with a picture of my daughter in her solo costume for her dance to "Buttercup" so many moons ago. If only I could return to those days. For my canvas I used a creamy acrylic for background color then added stamping with fresh flowers and white and yellow paint. Next I stamped some tissue with my Hero Arts music stamp and decoupaged onto canvas. The picture was then added and some black paint scrapings around it and on edges. Finally I added some yellow beads(which I had also used to make her earrings for the costume and some little cloth flowers.
Now if you head on over to the TIOT challenge blog you can see what my other team mates have created and add your own so we can take a look. Hope to see you there.
So no onto my updates. Well I really must apologize for being gone for so long. I have to say life has pretty much gotten in the way. I have not even had the change to craft much and my days are now filled with work and school related stuff. I have been coaching my daughters team for the Ecybermission and Christopher Columbus science competitions since the early fall and that alone has taken up a lot of time. They have been working on a project involving Diamondback Terrapins and how their nesting was effected by Superstorm Sandy. If you would like to see more about their project you can visit their blog here. I have also been working at the school here and there along with my volunteer work and oh yeah the foster doggies of course have needed their time. Finally I have been plagued with illness this winter. It seems that as soon as the boot came off and my foot was healing from the fracture I had managed to wear myself down enough to get the bug going around which started weeks ago with a sore throat then into a lovely cough which I still have. I have to say though at least with the snow days I have managed to clean out my craft room and can once again sit at my desk and try to create although it seems my creative mojo is now on vacation. I am sure it shall return soon and I shall be ready when it does.
SO that pretty much covers the past months I have been missing. Now that the projects for the girls are submitted there is not as much running around for meetings. They still have some ongoing work caring for the turtles and some fundraising at least until they get the competition results in April. Please with them luck. They have worked really hard and have really done a great job working on things outside their normal comfort zone. If you would like to wish them good luck you can visit their blog here.
We have managed to get 5 foster doggies adopted out while I was on hiatus. there was Stacey, Marly, Sally(aka Reilly), Abby and Eden. All wonderful little girls who managed to find their loving furever families. right now we have Sadie and Trixie.
Sadie shown above is our little blind girl although she will almost have you believing she rally can see they way she runs, plays and adapts to her surroundings. She is a playful pup that has so much love to give if only someone would have patience enough to give her a furever home.
Trixie is another sweetie. she love to cuddle and sleep a lot. With sore hips she is a bit slower to get around but that doesn't stop her from wanting to play and do doggie things.
You can get more info about both these girls and many more here at Homelesspawsnj.
Well I think I have taken up enough time for one day. I promise not to be a stranger to blog land anymore and will try to work on getting my crafty mojo back. For now I must run and be off to school.
Thanks for stopping in and have a lovely day.

It's Halloween over at TIOT
Or at least this fortnights theme is "Halloween". Here is my Graphic 45 Halloween Witches Tree.
Its filled with all sorts of witches potions. The tree is made using wire armature for the frame then covered in kitchen roll inked with Dylusions spray inks. It is then covered with a thin layer of clear EP and decorated with various bottles cut out from G45 paper. the bottles are coated with Glossy accent and wrapped in thin wire to be hung. The spiders and bats are done using black enamel gel. The other bottles are miniature wooden spools sprayed black then drawn with skull and cross bones and wrapped with wore to be hung.
Now its your turn to show us what Halloween trick or treat your have created. Just link it up at the TIOT challenge blog and we will stop by and take a peak.
Our sponsor for this month is Smeared Ink. they are offering a $10 store voucher
to our monthly winner. So be sure to stop in!
to our monthly winner. So be sure to stop in!
On a side note I have to say I am sorry it has been so long since my last post. Life seems to have gotten in the way once again. My broken foot has made it almost impossible to get into the craft room and create so instead I am limited to the supplies I use for classes that I can drag out into the kitchen table for now. 2 more weeks till I can get this boot off and hopefully get back into the craft room. Of course it needs a good sorting now since everything has managed to be thrown in there in the interim. I am counting the days.
Hoping to back soon.
Thanks for stopping by.

what I've been up to......
Hello again wow I am on a roll this week with another post. Just wanted to share some of my latest projects. First I have to share a picture of our 2 pups and one of our old fosters (Nikki)who came back for a weekend visit. Nikki(smaller black dog in bottom left) came to us as a foster last year. They first though she was a whip whippet mix since she was so skinny and tiny. Turns out she was just very underweight. Once she gained it back now she looks like a lab mix. She even looks like she could be our baby's baby doesn't she? They look so nice and calm in this picture from over a week ago. A big contrast to this weekends catastrophe where our lab decided to take on a skunk and of course was on the losing end. You could imaging the rest.
Ok now onto some projects. These first few were done quite a bit ago but I never got to post them. First up is a altered book page I did for a sample at the Artsy Soul where I teach some. I just love this mermaid stamp from Stampotique which you can find at The Artsy Soul. The background uses a variety of mediums while the pages on the right are layered to create pockets. Inside the pockets I made some simple ATC's.
This is a Multi Media layout I taught at Scrapbook Memories. It has a pocket on the left and the background is done using Paint, Dylusions spray inks, UTEE, Crackle and other mediums. The Jelly fish looking flowers were actually done by my daughter with a technique she learned at the Lovin Ink Craft retreat we attended while living in England. It was run by 2 very talented crafters and friends Janet and Michelle.
Next up is another class I taught at Scrapbook Memories in Beachwood NJ. Once again it is a mixed media using various mediums, paper from G45 Secret Garden, dylusions and more. The picture is from one of our many trips to Walt Disney World during the flower and Garden festival.
These next 2 are upcoming classes next week at Scrapbook Memories. I used various sprays, paints, paste's and more. The blue flowers are from Prima. the turtle is done using a torn technique and a variety of mediums.
Well thats all I have to share at the moment. I am still doing a bit of paper arts for teaching but also getting more into the doll making and sewing which I have been growing to love. I have some dolls in the works so hope to share some soon.
Thanks for stopping in and have a lovely day. Angela
